Overview
Irakli "Ike" Kaveladze is a Georgian-American businessman who serves as vice president of the Crocus Group; the Russian real estate and entertainment conglomerate owned by billionaire Aras Agalarov. Kaveladze was the eighth attendee at the infamous June 9; 2016 Trump Tower meeting between senior Trump campaign officials and Russian nationals; where he represented the Agalarov family's interests. Prior to this; Kaveladze had been the subject of a 2000 Government Accountability Office (GAO) investigation into Russian money laundering through U.S. banks; which found he had opened over 2;000 bank accounts and moved approximately $1.4 billion through them on behalf of Russian brokers. Though never criminally charged for the banking activities; the GAO report highlighted his role as a conduit for suspicious financial flows. Kaveladze testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee in November 2017 about the Trump Tower meeting and was interviewed by the Mueller investigation.
