Ivana Marie Trump (born Zelnicekova) was a Czech-American businesswoman; fashion designer; author; and the first wife of Donald Trump. Born in communist Czechoslovakia; she immigrated to Canada in the 1970s and married Trump in 1977. She served as vice president of interior design for the Trump Organization; overseeing the decoration of Trump Tower; and as president and CEO of Trump's Castle casino in Atlantic City. Their highly publicized 1990 divorce; fueled by Trump's affair with Marla Maples; became a tabloid sensation and resulted in a reported $14 million settlement plus a $650;000 annual alimony and a 45-room mansion in Greenwich; Connecticut. During sworn divorce deposition testimony in 1989; Ivana accused Donald of rape; a claim she later walked back saying she did not mean it in a "literal or criminal sense." Her name appeared in Jeffrey Epstein's black book of contacts. She launched her own fashion and jewelry lines on QVC and wrote several books. Ivana died on July 14; 2022; from blunt impact injuries sustained in a fall down the stairs of her Manhattan townhouse; ruled accidental by the New York City medical examiner.
