Minister of War, Ottoman Empire (1914-1918)
Leading Architect of the Armenian Genocide
Ismail Enver Pasha was one of the Three Pashas who ruled the Ottoman Empire during World War I and orchestrated the Armenian Genocide. As Minister of War, he played a central role in organizing the systematic deportation and extermination of 1.5 million Armenians, as well as the Assyrian and Greek genocides. He used World War I as cover to implement the genocidal plan, issuing orders for mass deportations into the Syrian desert where hundreds of thousands died.
